B2B PURCHASE March 2021 The government of India has conceptualized a Global Housing Technology Challenge - India (GHTCIndia) which aims to identify and mainstream a basket of innovative technologies from across the globe that are sustainable and disaster-resilient. Such technologies would be cost-effective, speedier and ensure a higher quality of construction of houses, meeting diverse geo-climatic conditions and desired functional needs.The GHTC India platform aspires to provide an eco-system for the adoption ofinnovative technologies in the construction of housing projects. Lighthouse projects are envisaged that will be built using these innovative technologies and further support will be provided to upcoming domestic technologies to foster an environment of research and development. GHTC Light House Projects LHP are model housing projects with houses built with shortlisted alternate technology suitable to the geo-climatic and hazard conditions of the region This will demonstrate and deliver ready to live houses with speed, economy and with better quality of construction in a sustainable manner. Six Technology providers have been selected through rigorous online bidding process for construction of Light House Projects (LHPs) at six different locations in six states.These LHP’s shall serve as LIVE Laboratories for different aspects of Transfer of Technologies to field application such as planning, design, production of components, construction practices, testing etc. for both faculty and students,builders, professionals of private and public sector and other stakeholders involved in such construction.As part of GHTC-India, an Expo-cum-Conference named Construction Technology India - 2019 (CTI-2019) was organized on March 2-3, 2019 at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. The Expo was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and brought together multiple stakeholders involved in innovative and alternative housing technologies, for the exchange of knowledge and business opportunities through an exhibition, thematic sessions, panel discussions and masterclasses. CTI-2019 had a participation of about 2,500 delegates from 32 countries and more than 3,500 visitors at the exhibition. 54 exhibitors with 32 innovative technologies from 25 countries were on display with 166 stalls. More than 60 technology providers had participated out of which Outinord had also participated and exhibited the Tunnel formwork technology. Jignasu Mehta, CEO, Outinord Formworks Pvt Ltd, added that the Light House project selected by the BMPTC team is a feather in the cap for Outinord’s Indian team and shall pave the way for many smaller developers to make use of our technological prowess in delivering faster and more costeffective projects to their clients. MoHUA selected the following sites to construct the Light House Projects in six PMAY regions:
• Uttar Pradesh - Lucknow
• Madhya Pradesh - Indore
• Jharkhand - Ranchi
• Tamil Nadu - Chennai
• Gujarat – Rajkot
• Tripura – Agartala
Out of these cities, Outinord along with Malani Construction was awarded the project of Rajkot, Gujarat to construct with Tunnel formwork technology. Malani Construction Co has been doing construction business since 1967 and is a leading Government Contractor & Engineer. Malani Construction Co has been awarded the construction of 1,144 EWS Units ( G+13 storey building) (Total-11 Building) at Light House Project (LHP) site at Rajkot, Gujarat under Global Housing Technology Challenge – India (GHTC-India) from the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA). This project is on Engineering Procurement Construction (EPC) basis with tunnel formwork. Casting of these buildings will be completed in six months and the project hand over will
be done in 12 months.
